Infact, there was this particular woman, she was so rich, and she had everything she wanted. She had four children, but she lost one of her son. After the death of her son, she was so filled with griefs and sorrows that she became inconsolable, even her remaining children could not comfort or console. Her mind was inundated with worries, griefs, pains and anxieties for a very long time. A day came, when she decided to get rid of pains and sorrows permanently from her life. She took a decision to visit a herbalist home to demand for a charm that can excommunicate pains and sorrows entirely from her life. When she got to the herbalist home, she demanded for the charm, but the herbalist astonishingly looked at her and said, “woman, i have no charm to give thee that can permanently take pains and sorrows away from your life”. But to help you, i will advice you go into the city, search for all the nice residential buildings and ask the occupants. “please i’m looking for a place where there’s no pains and sorrows but only happiness, is this such place? The woman being hopeful of getting a solution to her problem, took off at once. And when she came to the first building, she asked, “please i’m looking for a place where there’s no pain and sorrow but only happiness, is this such place”? The occupants replied her, definitely not! And they began to narrate all the calamities that has befallen them in recent times. She had pity on them and comforted them for a while, then continued her journey. She came to another beautiful mansion, she said. “please i’m looking for a place where there’s no pains and sorrows but only happiness. They also replied her and said, woman! You missed your way. And they also told her the story of how they lost their only son to a fire incident, and that they’re still mourning his death. She also had pity on them and consoled them for a while, then left for other places. But unfortunately for her, every home she went to, they always tell her different problems and challenges confronting them. She felt so disappointed, but she was a bit elated by the consciousness that, at least she was not the only one being caught up in the webs of pains and sorrows. The challenges of life are myriad, and they’re not peculiar to you alone. There’s no problem in life that is new under the sun. What you think you’re passing through today, someone else has gone through it. You definitely need to rise up to this consciousness and give thanks to God for the problems you do not have, rather than concentrate on the ones you have. Sometimes, you need to go out there and see what others are suffering, for you to be able to appreciate yourself. Don’t concentrate on your challenges, rather, remain calm and confront them. Concentrating on it, makes it look so insurmountable. Just believe that one day, you’ll overcome, and see the end of that problem. No problem lasts forever , it comes within a pace of time and vanishes with time. Stop complaining, complaining never solves any problem. Rather than use that time for complaining about your problems and challenges, use it to strategize and think of the best solution to the problem. Where you can’t get the problem solved, let it be! It will definitely wane with time. Every problem and challenge in life, has an expiry date. Hence there’s no need for worry and anxiety, just believe that you’ll overcome them one day.

OVERCOMING SHYNESS: DEVELOPING MORE EASE AND CONFIDENCE IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS.

The first thing you ought to know if you’re suffering from shyness, is that you’re not alone. Infact majority of people reports feeling shy in social situations (even if it doesn’t look that way to others). Shyness is an internal experience, and is not necessarily visible to the outside world. Infact, shyness is often misconstrued with coldness, aloofness or “snootiness” by other people. You can be surrounded by shy people all of the time without realizing it. Just knowing these alone can help reduce the feeling of shyness and isolation a bit. One way to ease your general feeling of shyness anywhere is to, look around for someone who seems to even be more shy than you, and go talk to him or her. Approaching someone who feels more shy than you, will help you feel more confident and less alone. You can as well talk about your common feelings of discomfort in social situations and feel supported. After this successful experience, you’ll probably feel ready to branch out and talk to more people. At least, you may have found a new friend. When we are feeling shy, our attention is turned inward, and we are preoccupied with fears of being judged by other people. This is very inhibiting, and makes us feel awkward. One way to deal with this, is to turn our attention outward. You can do this, by focusing on what we like about the other person. Imaging saying positive, appreciative things to that person like: “i like your smile” or “i like how alive you appear today” or whatever it is, that makes the person appealing to you. Then feel and say these appreciations to the person in your head as you approach him or her. You will be coming towards that person with the positive energy of appreciation, rather than the energy of fear of rejection. This will help you feel more at ease and feel more better towards the other person. This technique can be quiet helpful. My last recommendation, is practice. The more you try these techniques, the more comfortable you’ll become. Always remember that you are not alone. Most of us do feel shy in social situations. Practice these techniques, and you’ll meet more people in general, and hopefully that special one. Shy people of the world unite!! Shynessshy-main_full2-468x366
