Do our contemporary leaders actually believe in the saying: “A good name is better than silver and gold”? Sometimes i wonder if they really believe the holy book, which says, “what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loose his own soul”? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? According to the holy scriptures, “if only in this life we have hope, then we’re of all men the most miserable”. Most of our leaders are drunk with materialism and self-aggrandizement. They want to own everything in the world, rather than use their wealth to impact positively on the lives of the less-privileged. They should remember that, naked we came into this world, and naked we shall all go back. No man came into this world with something, everything we acquire in life, will all end here, but the most important question to ask yourself is, “what hope do i have after this life”. This is a pertinent question you should be asking yourself. The world will never remember you because of the amount of wealth you acquire, but by the positive impact you made in other peoples lives, and your contribution to human development. Your wealth is only but for a short time and it will evaporate one day, but your meaningful contribution to the life of others, is what writes your name in gold. When you take a retrospective look of past leaders all over the world that were celebrated, they were not celebrated because of the amount of wealth they acquired, or the number cars and houses they own, but they were celebrated because of their meaningful contributions to life and their positive impacts in the lives of so many people. The only way to leave your footprints in the sands of time and be remembered by subsequent generations, is to add value to your generation, through making positive impacts in people’s lives and give your best to humanity.
